PRINCESS PROJECTRA
Name: Projectra Vauxhall Origin: ORANDAN SPECIES: ORANDIAN GENDER: FEMALE | HEIGHT: 5'6" WEIGHT: 130 LBS AGE: 16 ALIGNMENT: GOOD |
POWERS
Illusion Casting: Projectra’s primary power is that of illusion casting, which allows her to blend into her background, effectively becoming invisible. Her abilities are magical in nature, and hence are also effective on living beings. However, it also allows her to adapt to rapidly changing backgrounds without betraying the illusion. She can camouflage both herself and someone standing in close proximity to her.
Projectra's illusion casting can also be used to project frightening illusions into the minds of other people. These illusions usually show what the affected person fears most. This ability can affect other living things besides people, and Projectra can use this ability in combat situations. Projectra is shown as having the ability to project an illusion over herself in order to appear as another person, but that person needs to be her approximate height and weight for it to appear authentic.

ABILITIES
- Martial Artist: Trained by the best that her father could afford and hire, Projectra has been taught basic hand-to-hand combat techniques in hopes that the knowledge would be enough for her to hold her own. Projectra is more than aware of how handle opponents bigger than her and is capable of taking down a group of four or five men.
- Diplomat: Being a princess has given Projectra the time to develop her diplomatic skills. As the sole representative of her planet she is bestowed with the heavy responsibility of interacting with numerous representatives of other planets and other organizations. She knows her way around political individuals and knows how to use her words to persuade a crowd of well established individuals.
- Royal Funds: Being a princess has its perks and as the only heir to her throne Projectra has direct access to her father’s funds. With the flick of her wrist she can summon a huge sum of money for whatever she needs and desires.
- Intimidation: Projectra comes from a upbringing where she has always bossed people around and has been nothing but a force to be reckoned with if challenged. That alongside her powers of illusions, Projectra is able to cast great fear into the hearts of most individuals. It’s an advantage that she utilizes a little too frequently, but it’s something she perfected.
- Stealth: With the aid of her powers, Projectra is extremely effective in stealth work. She’s able to secretly infiltrate high tech facilities and can go unnoticed for extended periods of time.
WEAKNESSES
- Heroic Inexperience: Projectra is quite young and is entering super hero business with little knowledge or experience. Because of this, she’s prone to making rookie mistakes and letting heart override rationale in most situations. She doesn’t make the best decisions and thinks her decisions are the . All she knows are her own morals and what her experience up until now has taught her.
- Mortality: Projectra is mortal in every way possible, she can be shot, stabbed, fatally wounded and ultimately killed. Her powers cannot protect her from psychic attacks either and she can suffer greatly from mental attacks or back lashes.
- Focus:Maintaining her illusions require great concentration and focus, the bigger the area she is working with the more people she is manipulating, the more focus she requires. If her concentration is broken or disturbed in anyway, her illusions can falter and ultimately she can be found out. Usually when that happens good things don’t follow.
- Sensory Flawed: While extremely realistic, her illusions can only be seen, not heard, felt or perceived by any other sense but sight. Her illusions are most effective if the subject is not aware they are illusion; even so, the subject is constantly challenged to overcome their sense-stunning realism.
- Non-Selective Illusions: The Princess' illusion power is not selective, in that everyone present will see it and that it cannot single out any one particular individual in a crowd, unless her power is intensified by a telepath, Saturn Girl for example.

PERSONALITY
There is really no nice way to put this, but in the most endearing fashion – Projectra is quite simply a brat. She was born and raised in the lavish world of Orando where she is the only contender for the royal throne. Her entire life has basically been delivered to her on a silver platter and any other sort of lifestyle would be absolutely preposterous. She’s got a very abrasive demeanor, akin to the rough skin of a crocodile and doesn’t exactly give off the general impression that she will get along with anyone. Her entire life has been rather reclusive, her companions being either the servants she commanded, tutors that were hired to educate her and the few lucky subjects that were chosen with heavy scrutiny to be Projectra’s playmate (on her good days at least).
The only real love and passionate she has ever had for another sentient being is her father and in her eyes he is absolutely perfect. There is not man that can compare to her father and for him she has displayed an entirely different personality that expresses the kindness, love and compassion that any being should be capable of. Her father is her world and for him she would do anything.
Outside of the sole member of her family, Projectra gives off a rather contemptuous manner to anyone else that matters little to her. She’s cold, hard and absolute blunt in everything and anything that she does. Because her power of illusion also enables her to see past the illusion of life she has become incredibly skeptical of people; knowing full well that everyone’s actions are always laced with some kind of intent. Because of this jaded sense of insecurity around people she’s not easy (at all) to trust anyone and warming up to them? That’s an entirely different story.
To keep people away from her, she latches onto her royal lineage and reminds herself and others (constantly) that she is a princess and that she should be addressed appropriately. This mentality is pretty much ingrained into her everyday activities and so everything that Projectra does is with absolute elegance, grace and regality. She considers everyone around her peasants and will not hesitate to point out their inadequacy.
Projectra’s a pretty easy person to hate: princess from another planet who demands the respect and loyalty of anyone and everyone around her and will not hesitate to talk down to people. There is unfortunately, no real soft, gooey core at the center of Projectra, she’s cold and because of her education and perception of the world – utterly calculative about her actions and everyone else’s. She’s not looking for someone to love or for anyone to spend the rest of her life with (like a typical princess), but rather for the progression of her planet and to carry on and follow through with the wishes of her father. Her bad qualities don’t necessarily back her a bad person, but primarily an absolute pain to deal with. She always has good intentions, even though she’ll probably think of her well-being first but deep down, Projectra is smart, educated and has a very real view of the world that makes her more of a real person than one would expect.

HISTORY
Projecta hails from Orando, princess and heir to the throne of her unusual world.
Orando is a protectorate world of the United Planets, a restricted world that is aware of the UP, space travel, and high technology, but have for the most part opted to continue their medieval ways. This has been the choice of the hereditary Monarchy that have ruled that world since time immemorial. Orando is one of the three magical worlds (the other two being Zerox, the wizard's world; and Naltor), that were settled long ago by mages who left earth through magical gates to these worlds. The hereditary monarchy of Orando are gifted with the power of magic, the ability to cast illusions.
Projectra's powers allow her to create ultra-realistic illusions, illusions that can affect most sentient beings, and that can be seen, felt, and heard, even smelled. They affect all of the senses. In addition, Projectra's abilities seem to give her the power to extend her regular senses in odd ways.
Projectra's father, King Voxv of Orando, was a progressive reformer by the standards of his world. He has given more rights to the peasantry (something that has made some of the nobility angry at him), has allowed limited introduction of 30th century technology into his world (constructing a small spaceport in his royal palace, allowing for medical technology and some other items that improve the everyday lives of his people, and outfitting his palace guard with 30th century armor and weaponry), and has opened up his world, carefully and slowly, to more contact and regular visits from UP dignitaries.
It is Voxv's feeling that more contact with the rest of the galaxy is inevitable, and good for Orando. But Voxv is already an old man, and he realized that his own knowledge and understanding of the rest of the universe was very limited. Thus, Voxv decided that his daughter would rise to the throne being better equipped than he was to deal with the modern galaxy; he instructed Projectra to leave home, and travel and study in the Galaxy under the care of the UP Government. Projectra has with some relunctance agreed to do this this, her mission to gain a better education of what its like to live in the United Planets, meeting alien races, and to study to become a good diplomat.
She learns of the Legion when she arrives on planet Earth and for some time has played ignorance to their existence. However in the rise of their popularity she seeks to join their rankings, because you know every fantastic group needs a princess.

INTERVIEW RECORDING
Projectra’s leg shook slightly as it hung limply over her left knee and she waited patiently for the mousey young woman in front of her to get herself together. Her lips were pursed and while she found her behavior rather unladylike and much less regal, she couldn’t help but display her discontent with the situation that was laid out before her. Platnium hair fell over her face and she quickly lifted her head up, nose high in the air and looked sternly at the woman before her. Steel blue eyes bore into the woman’s soul and as to not make her feel any more uncomfortable she turned her gaze to the woman’s cheap blouse and its lapel that had a pin attached to the cloth that read Lori Shvaughn. She allowed the name to become forever etched in her mind, silently damning it in the deepest recesses of her thoughts.
“Um… I-I’m sorry ma-ma’am-“
Projectra was forced out of her moment of complete abhorrence as the woman began to speak. There was that despicable stuttering again, as if the woman had no grasp on this language. Why would she be hired if she couldn’t speak correctly? What kind of simple minded buffoon was running this place of business? Grife she thought to herself as she stared hard at Lori, her eyes practically like daggers.
“Please, you may refer to me as your highness.” Projectra began, her voice holding no softness as she spoke, “And I would prefer if you cease your insistent stuttering, I simply want to know – What do you mean my funds have been limited.”
She felt her body lean forward as she spoke with absolutely contempt. Her body rippled with anger as the woman’s slight Adams apple bulged as she took in a mouthful of saliva and seemed to carefully think out her response.
“W-what I-I mean is.” Lori paused, realizing by the look on Projectra’s face that she was stuttering, “Your account has been limited by a King V-vVoxv.” She spat the final segment out, wanting to get this entire ordeal over with.
“I still don’t understand. That is my father, King Voxv, why would he put a limit on my account?” Projectra inquired, her think lips upturning into a thin, albeit, forced, smile.
“That is a question you will have to ask your father, ma-a—your highness. At this time I am not allowed to provide you with any more funds for the week.”
A cold “hah” escaped Projectra’s lips as she sat back in her chair, spine completely erect and her body language rather haughty as she stared the woman dead in the eye. Another short, stifled laugh escaped her lips as the room around the began to dim and slowly darken. Lori looked around worriedly, her small booth becoming smaller by the second as the darkness began to consume her.
“Unable to provide me with funds? Is that not your occupation?!”
Projectra’s work flew out of her mouth like hot fire, and as she spoke silver snakes seemed to rise from her platinum hair and slide down the young woman’s stiff body. They circled around her shoulder blades, their pink tongues flicking in and out of their mouths as they trailed down her arm. She sat completely still as if completely unaware of the serpents as they traveled down her arm, onto her legs and then for the teller desk.
Lori began to shift uncomfortably in her chair. Her eyes darted about trying to find a source of light but she couldn’t find anything to bring comfort to her new surroundings. The darkness that completely entrapped her and she could feel the cold sweat of her body linger on the nape of her neck as the small place she was trapped within seemed to grow tighter. Hissing filled her ears and she whimpered slightly as the snakes traveled over the desk, their long bodies moving rather alien-like as they made contact with her hand and began to work their way up her arm.
“No.. no.” Lori began, looking up to Projectra who still retained that cold look in her eyes, “Please.. I don’t know – I can’t do anything, I-“ The serpents disappeared under her sleeves and she felt their cool, rough skin press against her own. It was almost sickening and she could feel the tears begin to stain her cheeks. As they continued around her tricep, she gagged slightly becoming completely nauseated by the experience and when sudden movement occurred under her blouse she let out a deafening shriek.
The darkness around her suddenly began to fade away, the light coming back as if someone were performing brush strokes around the area. She looked around, her eyes completely livid as Projectra stood before her, her arms crossed and a look of satisfaction plastered upon her face. Lori trembled, feeling under her blouse for the snakes but found that there was nothing there. Her eyes searched frantically and her arms reached out, reaffirming the large amount of space she had around her.
It was all in her head, all of that was in her head. But why had it seemed so lifelike?
“I suppose I will have to have a talk with my father then.”
Projectra suddenly said, her eyes flickering with certain darkness as she brushed her hair off her shoulder.
“Perhaps another day you shall appease me peasant.”
And with that Projectra turned on her heel and walked gracefully out of Metropolis’ Intergalatic Exchange Bank.
