These are all recommendations on how to post.
Thread Subject After your subject title, indicate the type of thread you want.- [ OPEN ] - This thread is open for any character, hero or villain
- [ CLOSED ] - This thread is closed, as the participants have already been selected
- [ INVITE ] - This thread is invite only. You must contact the thread starter and ask to enter the thread.
Typing your posts
Make sure you use proper grammar and check for spelling. A good idea is to type your post in an editor, such as Microsoft Word, and when finished, use it to test grammar and spelling, then copy and paste it.
Use quotes for all verbal speaking: "Hey, what are you doing with my cat!"
Use italics when thinking, or using telepathy: I can't believe that guy owns a cat.
It's also recommended that when speaking or thinking, you color the words. Make each speaker in your post a different color, and it helps the reader identify who is speaking more clearly.
Also, it is recommended that you space before and after speaking and thinking parts, in order to make your post cleaner and easier to read. Also, you should add spaces between different scenes and actions.
For example: *** Suddenly one of the thugs flew backwards and hit the warehouse wall with a thud, sliding to the ground unconscious. The five remaining thugs turned, spreading out slightly and opening fire. “WHAT THE HELL!” Prodigy had already moved and was in the air, his heel coming down on the ridge of the nose of one of the thugs. He heard a crack as he broke the nose and the man fell. Two down, four to go. The remaining gunmen were yelling and hollering, and appeared to have had enough. One of them just sprayed all around, hitting one of his fellow thugs. “20 of the nation’s 22 national gun laws are not enforced. According to U.S. Department of Justice data, only 2% of federal gun crimes are actually prosecuted. 85% of cases prosecuted relate to street criminals in possession of firearms.” As he spouted of the crime statistics, he spun, leaped, kicked, and punched. Two more thugs were down and the last two were running down the loading dock as fast as they could. 3:36 seconds left before detonation. “Lucas...” - “Did you deactivate the bombs yet?” Crow’s voice came through his communication link. ***
As you can see, this is hard to read.
But is much easier when typed like this:
*** Suddenly one of the thugs flew backwards and hit the warehouse wall with a thud, sliding to the ground unconscious. The five remaining thugs turned, spreading out slightly and opening fire.
“WHAT THE HELL!”

Finally, when you are the initiator of a new thread, it is recommended, if you haven't already discussed it with anyone, that you write a brief synopsis, or plot, or general direction you would like to go with the thread. Place it at the end of your post, in italics, to give any prospective role player an idea of the overall story, so they know if they are interested.
Example:
The bank robbers will try and steal the money, and if anyone tries to stop them, they will take hostages and exit to their getaway car. I want to follow them to their hideout, where we discover that this robbery is just one of many of a new gang. We learn of the gangs plans, and then go out to each of their 'hideouts' and take them out. Eventually the gang leader will find out about us, and hire an assassin or two to go after us.
There is another rule... well, more like board etiquette that must be mentioned.
If you are creating a thread where you want to specifically call out a certain character, you must get that person's permission first before doing so.
For example, if you had a thread where you wanted to call out Comet:
"A Cry in the Night [ Comet ]"
Then before even writing it, you should contact Comet to see if he is interested in the thread. Calling someone out without getting their permission is like joining an invite only thread without asking. You are forcing someone to do something they may not be interested in.
This doesn’t apply to calling out teams, only specific characters.
