Saturn Girl
Name: Imra Ardeen Origin: titan SPECIES: titanian GENDER: female | HEIGHT: 5'7" WEIGHT: 130 lbs AGE: 17 ALIGNMENT: Good |
POWERS
Telepathy: Saturn Girl can read peoples' minds in detail, either by consciously willing it or by mentally picking up their stray thoughts. Via her telepathy, she can also send messages into the minds of others, sounding like her own voice inside their heads, or place knowledge of certain things into people's minds. Using a combination of these methods, she can interpret unknown alien languages. She can send or receive telepathic messages to or from the Phantom Zone. Saturn Girl is a prodigy, even among a race of telepathic people. She has an incredible working knowledge of the average humanoid brain and the specific functions of each part. Saturn Girls telepathy is comparable in power level to that of the 20th century's Martian Manhunter, whom in turn is renowned as one of the most powerful telepaths on Earth.
She has demonstrated the following specialized uses:
[li] Telepathic Illusions: She can create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.
She has demonstrated the following specialized uses:
- Telepathic Defense: She can manifest hier telepathy in a number of defensive ways.
- Telepathic Cloak: She can mask his presence and the use of her abilities from being detected by other psions and psychic entities. She can extend these defenses to others around her as well. Cloaking via telepathy is not perfect and powerful psis may notice and 'see' through this ability.
- Psionic Shield: Ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and others minds.
[li] Telepathic Illusions: She can create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.
- Telepathic Camouflage: She can alter the apparent physical appearance of herself and other people by altering the perceptions of those around her. This can go so far as to make other people believe that the camouflaged people are not there e.g. invisible.
[li] Telepathic Manipulation: She can manipulate other people's minds easily, achieving a variety of effects.
[/li]
[li]Mind Control: She can control the thoughts and actions of others.
[/li]
[li]Mental Paralysis: She can induce temporary mental or physical paralysis[/li]
[li]Mental Amnesia: She can erase any awareness of particular memories or cause total amnesia.[/li]
[li]Mental Sedating: Can telepathically "sedate" her victims so that, if already rendered unconscious, they remain so for as long as she continues to "sedate" them. [/li]
[li]Psionic Blast: She can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and turning someone brain-dead.[/li]
[li]Mental Detection: She can sense the presence of another superhuman within a small but as yet undefined radius of herself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.

ABILITIES
- Hand-to-hand combat: Her combat skills are well advanced because she doesn't want her handicap to hinder her ability to protect herself because she can't speak. She knows how to defend herself, she isn't Batman in knowledge of a specific styles but she can hold her own fairly well and works out to keep her muscle mass.
- Linguistics: Because of her abilities in telepathy, she is easily able to alter the mind of someone so they can understand each other, and so it's easier for her to understand and speak to them.
- Tracking: She can mentally track someone by finding their unique brainwaves. It doesn't work if the person is unconscious, she can't track them and it makes things difficult on her the further away someone is from her, but she can track someone who is an undetermined distance away from her, they don't have to necessarily be even in the same galaxy.
WEAKNESSES
- Headaches: Her powers require a lot of mental focus and if she is stressed it weakens her and makes her susceptible to headaches, and they can vary in degree to a slight pain to a full blown migraine that has her physically sick.
- Head injuries: A blow to back of the head may not bother some people, but is utterly debilitating to her. Those sort of hits leave her struggling to not to pass out. She has to be careful and get control or she can send a backlash to the minds closest to her. Those hits take longer for her to recover. If she'd been doing something mentally whatever she'd been doing is broken, if she had a mental link up between her teammates it breaks.
- Overload: It's easy to overload her with too much, too many thoughts and emotions all at once. Because she can't speak and she likes to be able to be aware if her team needs her, it isn't often that she puts up any shields to block them out.
- Mute: She can't speak though usual means either, which puts her in disadvantage in situations where telepathy is useless.
- Telepathic Range Confusion: As mentioned before, there is a range to Saturn Girl's ability to contact people telepathically, and Imra's ability to distinguish between a dead or unconscious person is tenuous.
- Mental Disruption: She cannot read the mind of a person with amnesia, someone who is hypnotized from another source, or a stunned or unconscious mind. Unconscious minds also cannot receive any telepathic commands.
- Psychic Shock: She is vulnerable to being knocked unconscious by psychic shock impulses.
EQUIPMENT
- Flight Ring: As a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, Saturn Girl possesses a Legion Flight Ring. The ring gives its wearer the ability to fly, the speed and range of which is determined by the wearer's willpower. It also acts as a long-range communicator (enabling constant vocal contact with other Legionnaires, even across vast distances of space), a signal device, and a navigational compass, all powered by a micro-computer built inside the ring.
PERSONALITY
Imra had wanted to be part of something bigger, she's always wanted to help others and she's found her chance to do so. While getting to the science division was exactly what her mother wanted for her. Imra wasn't entirely trilled with it but she wasn't about to stand up to her over it. It was in a sense what she'd thought she wanted to do. The work wasn't what she'd expected, she'd wanted more, something more fulfilling.
She'd found it in helping those two boys take down the man and his counter parts in the plot. She did something she hadn't done before she did something that she wanted, she took them up on their offer to join their team and taking the responsibility that came with it. She's the one who you can come and talk with, the one most people take comfort in talking too, she doesn't run things badly, but she keeps things in order and when things need to get done or the hard choices need to be made. She's fair but she doesn't like disrespect.
Her biggest fear since taking over has been loosing those she holds dear, those under her charge, thus she feels the need to protect them as she feels sometimes only that she can. She takes on a lot and doesn't ask for help. She's usually the strong one, the level headed, calm one and that is what everyone needs to see, not her at her weakest moments.

HISTORY
Any world on which the inhabitants can read one’s thoughts is likely to be distrusted by the inhabitants of others.Titan had just recently completed a war against Braal and signed a peace treaty joining the United Planets, one condition of which was that every Titanian wear a badge shaped like the planet Saturn when traveling off-world.
Into this world was born Imra Ardeen, whose mind was the most powerful seen on Titan in decades. She was trained by the best teachers, and was allowed to join the Science Police. On the way to Earth to fulfill this dream, she “overheard” the thoughts of two assassins gunning for Stargate magnate R.J. Brande, and got two boys, Garth Ranzz and Rokk Krinn to stop them. She then reported to her job at Science Police headquarters, but found herself at the bottom of the ladder for assignments. Her discontent as this turn of events led to her accepting Brande’s offer to join his new Legion of Super-Heroes as Saturn Girl.
With her other two founding members on leave for an unspecified amount of time, she is the only active leader and as such is in charge of everything and doing her best to protect those who need their help. She's not yet found anyone who she feels could handle the responsibilities of being a member of the Legion of Superheroes but that is about to change whether or not she likes it. Things have been set in motion and those that fate has smiled on will prove their worth whether they intend to or not.

INTERVIEW RECORDING
The persistent beeping that came through a speaker by her bed is what woke her up. Her blue eyes staring into the darkness that surrounded her, from the safety of her bed, the sheets tangled around her legs. She breathed out a calming breath and ran her fingers through her tangled golden locks as she sat up ignoring the sheet as it pooled around her ankles as she pulled her knees to her chest. She shivered as her exposed skin was exposed to the temperature to kept her room in to better help her sleep. White shorts with fine light blue silk ribbon to tie the shorts tighter in a bow if she needed too and a light blue undershirt exposing the pale smooth skin of her arms and long legs.
‘What’s going on?’
She asked herself turning her head and looking at the small screen on the wall, a blinking red light was continuing the flash and a beep, as a reading was put on the screen that said ‘URGENT’ in big read leaders. Her fingers reached out the touch the screen, her index finger pressing the box and watching as the words filtered on the screen in blocks of text and with a touch to the little speaker on the bottom left of the screen, did it start to filler room with the sound.
Her heart beat in her throat and she was moving from her bed, rushing towards her closet, even as she slipped out of her clothes, her shorts the first to slid down her long legs as she stepped out of them in nothing but her undershirt and a pair of white silk panties with a light blue lacey trim along the edges. Her door to her room was open, but she paid it no mind, no one was here. She was alone on this massive ship alone, Garth Ranzz or as he liked to be called Lightening lad and Rokk Krinn as Cosmic Boy were both out on a joint mission leaving her to hold down the fort. She wasn’t worried she knew she could handle it but now with the distress call, her computer had managed to pick up. She had her doubts that she could get there in time.
Her fingers tugging down the suit that would offer her some protection from the elements of space, she hopped on one foot as she quickly moved to get it on, and pull it up to her knee before doing the same but switching feet to get it up her other leg. She let the material hang down around her waist as she moved pulling her top over her head and striding forward to throw open her drawers to put on a bra before shoving her feet in the boots by her bed and running out of her room towards the main computer. She didn’t even bother being fully dressed; she’d do that on the way.
Her fingers flew open over the keys accessing the small ship and imputing the coordinates that she’d need to get to the craft. She knew she could fly out there on her own but it wouldn’t do her any good to be unable to carry the girl with her safely and she very well could need medical attention. As the coordinates were set via the computer into the onboard computer she put the ship on a sort of lock down with a code that would make it inaccessible unless Garth, Rokk or herself put in the code to reawaken it.
She grabbed an oxygen breather on her way to the ship and made sure she had enough and a small medical kit, being prepared for anything as she hit the engine button and the small round ship that could carry six people. As she put watched the hatch open she pushed the lever forward the ship took off a slow speed out of the hanger and once the doors were shutting behind her, she pushed it all the way forward, as it auto-piloted itself to the coordinates allowing herself to finish getting dressed, pulling the material down her arms and flexing her fingers into the gloves that she pulled on that she’d thrown in the seat next to her. She zipped the suit closed, and took a deep steadying breath before she closed her eyes and got ready to contact, the girl who was stuck in space, and on deaths door.
As her mind reached out, she could feel the girl’s faint mind, as she carefully reached out to brush her mind against hers and she spoke to her, finding her name easily enough. As the connection was established she could feel it flutter and she hoped it stuck and the young woman didn’t pass out, it would abolish any hope she had of being able to communicate with her. Sometimes she hated her handicap it made her nervous being unable to talk with others and she often times felt a little embarrassed around new people who didn’t give the opportunity to get to know her.
“Tasmia…my name is Imra and I’m here to help you”
As she said those words to her through the connection she’d made, she was slinging the breather over her shoulder from the straps that would allow it to slid along her back like an oxygen tank, even as she opened the hatch to the aircraft as it stopped a safe distance away from the asteroid. Using her flight ring, she made the rest of the way over, her feet landing on the chunk of rock and she raced over to the side of the ship where she knew the young Talokian was. She frowned not quite sure how to help her, but she kneeled down and reached out for her oxygen, to remove it and give her the new one.
“Hold you breath for me Tas it’ll be only a moment, I promise.”
She pulled with gentle movements the old tank from her back and put the new full tank at her side and quickly moved to activate the oxygen with the press of a button, looking as the needle rotated to tell her how much full the oxygen was, it was at the full green bar. She removed the piece from Tasmia’s nose and mouth and placed the new one in its place.
“It’ll be alright, take a breath and try to relax. I’m here to help I got your distress signal. I’m with the Legion of Super-Heroes”
Her words trickled into her mind with a slowness that was easy to follow, and her voice was hopefully as soothing and calm that the young woman would know she meant her no ill will and would help her in anyway that she needed.
